I've had such a good day today! It was Mummy's birthday and I knew Harry was coming over at lunchtime, so I was very excited and eager to start the day. I got up at 5am and stood beside Mum holding her hand for a little while. Then she let me get in for a snuggle, which was very nice, instead of sending me back to bed straight away. I got in about fifteen minutes of cuddling, whispering and prodding before Daddy realised that it was only 5.15am and sent me back to bed. Eventually Daddy got up with me, and Jazzie woke early too. We took Mummy in a coffee and the paper at about 6.20 and I said, 'Happy Birfday, Mummy', as I handed her the paper. She was still a bit dozy then, but it didn't take too long to wake her up. Daddy gave her some presents, which I helped her to open, then I asked, 'Mum, when's Harry coming?' One O-clock was the answer. I couldn't wait. By ten o-clock I had asked after Harry about fifty times and Mum was getting a bit huffy with me. I said, 'Mum, I love Harry', but it didn't make him come any sooner. I went off for a nap at about 10.30 but woke up soon after and went to check if Harry had arrived. He hadn't and I got sent back to bed. When I woke up there was food on the table and lots of activity in the kitchen. Jazzie and I settled ourselves on the chairs next to the table and dipped biscuits into the little bowls of dips. I devoured lots very quickly, but Jazzie seemed to think it was more fun to smear the dip on the table. Then we noticed the jar of hundreds and thousands in the cupboard and I remembered that Mum was going to make us some fairy bread. Jasmine and I were standing in front of the open pantry plotting how we were going to get the jar down when Daddy came and interrupted us. We had to wait until our friends arrived. Finally Harry did arrive and we went completely berserk together! It was such fun. I was dying to show him our new sandpit. We got in, had a bit of a play, spread the sand about the ground and then decided to take off our sandy clothes and clean them. We piled our tops, undies, pants, socks and my shoes into a bucket and filled it with water, then kneaded away at them. We both declared, 'We're washing our clothes!' when the adults came to have a look. Then we left them in a heap on the concrete and ran off to play inside. After a good play with lots of toys, we got to ice our own little cakes and decorate them. Cindie had made the cakes and some bright green icing and we all got knives and smeared icing on our cakes. I put about six little marshmallows on my cake and sprinkled it with hundreds and thousands. Jazzie didn't want any icing on hers but Jack tried to put heaps on his. Claire helped Amelia decorate her cake - she got a neat little smear. Mine was a big blob. Yum. After that we went to the park, then came back for some more adult birthday cake. Harry and I shared a piece - mmm, yum, yum! We played a bit more, then it was dinner time and we all crowded around my blue table and hopped into a plate of sausages. I was so happy all afternoon. Everyone finally went home so I plonked on the couch to watch The Goodies. Jazzie knocked over my drink, which made me bawl. Dad and Mum came to clear it up and Daddy got me another drink. Then Jazzie came and knocked it over again. I fell on the floor and howled. I was very happy to get into bed after that and read a book with Daddy. Very tired... Wednesday, September 22, 2004
I can't believe how horribly AWFUL Mum and Dad can be. This afternoon Jasmine and I were out the front and I picked up a handful of dirt and mulch and threw it at Jasmine. First up she cried; I have no idea why, I thought it was fun. Then Mum told me to say sorry and to get the broom and sweep up all the dirt off the path and back into the garden. How MEAN! Of course I refused and cried and screamed, but Dad joined in and they both insisted I sweep the path. Daddy sat out the front with me while I cried at the door, 'Daddy, I want Mummy!!!' but she closed the door and ignored me. I kept wailing, 'MUMMY! MUMMY! Daddy, I want Mummy!!' but he kept saying, 'Here's the broom,' and holding it out to me. I jumped up and down and screamed and cried. They were SO horrible to me. My dinner was inside and it was getting dark and I kept on refusing to sweep. Then I picked up the broom and went to throw it into the window, but Daddy sounded a bit menacing when he told me not to, so I put it down and wailed even louder for Mummy. She was sitting at the computer drinking a glass of red wine! I tipped over the stool and picked up some more dirt and threw it on the ground. THEN Mummy brought Daddy out his glass of wine and disappeared again! I wailed, 'MUMMY! MUMMY! MUMMY!' and sobbed and sobbed. Then, to make matters worse, Daddy started singing!! I yelled, 'Daddy I not want you to stay out!!' but he told me it was a lovely night and he was very happy to sit out there until I did the sweeping. MUMMYWAAAAAAAOOOOOOOHOOOOOO. I tried to squeeze past Daddy to get in the door, but he wouldn't move. Mum popped her head out occasionally to ask Daddy something about dinner, but she wouldn't rescue me. So I lay on my back on the ground and kicked and banged on the door and threw the broom on the ground. I looked in the window at Mum and wailed, but she just kept on typing away. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I was getting a bit desperate after half an hour of this and started running around the yard shrieking. I tried so hard to stay angry. Mum and Dad didn't even yell at me once. That made it all the more difficult. After forty-five minutes I swept up the path. For that I got a quick hug and cold dinner put in front of me. They are SO mean. But I ate my dinner. I was hungry after that. Sunday, September 19, 2004
I went to see the Thunderbirds movie with Daddy this morning! It was the best fun! I investigated all the toilets we passed and even found one that was a bit smaller just for me. So I got to pee in a little urinal. Then we went into the cinema and watched the movie. I got a bit bored in parts, but when I discovered that the arm rests of the seats lifted up I found I could shift up a seat by shimeying along on my bottom. That was good fun. I moved about seven seats away from Daddy. We also got some chocolate to eat. I told Mum afterwards, 'I ate some chocolate, yeah, I ate it all!' with a big grin. After a big sleep I helped Mum in the yard. She was repotting some big trees, so I helped pour in the soil, which I told Mum was also called dirt, and then watered them in. After such a good day it's a shame that Daddy upset me by insisting that I eat a lamb cutlet for dinner. He's so mean. I yelled and screamed but Daddy made me eat some of it. Then I walked around the house for ages with a mouthful of meat in my cheeks. Mum tried to tell me to swallow it, but I refused so she made me spit it out in the toilet. Then I got dragged kicking and screaming into the shower. Boy they know how to upset me. But I feel better now and am settling in to watch the original Thunderbirds movie with Jasmine. Daddy's pretty impressed with her because she just said, 'Are Go!' But she can't say, 'Thunderbirds' yet. Friday, September 17, 2004
A lot has happened over the last month. We have moved to a new house; we don't live in Inverleif Street anymore. We now have a big house with a yard and a playground over the road. I really like it here. Oh, and I have my own room! But right now I'm a bit sick. I've felt lousy for the last three days after waking at midnight on Tuesday with a sore head and sore legs. I saw the Doctor on Wednesday and he poked and prodded me all over and pulled down my pants and looked at my legs to see if I had any rashes. That was after I was sick all over Mum in the waiting room. He would only touch me with gloves on. I was so hot and couldn't eat anything and my head hurt so much. I went to get a drink from the machine in the reception but then I burped and everything came straight out again. I cried and said, 'Did sick come out my mouth?' Then I was really wet and wanted to go home because I really felt much better. But two days later I still feel a bit sick. Today I woke from my nap and just felt miserable. I wailed, 'I want Daddy!' as Mum cuddled me. I snuggled on her lap while she read some books but I kept sobbing, 'I want Daddy'. Jazzie was asleep and I wanted to leave. I called, 'Mummy wake Jazzie', which she did and we all got in the car to go and get Daddy from work. I was so much happier once I'd seen him. My head didn't hurt as much and I wasn't as hot. I just needed my Daddy. I felt so much better in the afternoon that Daddy, Jazzie and I got on a train for a little trip. We ended up in the City and I rode my bike up Degraves Street while Jazzie pointed at everything. It was a lot of fun. I had an early night after that.
