I turned four yesterday. At least I think it was yesterday, because today is the third day in a row of birthday celebrations. On Friday I went to Kinder as usual, but Daddy, Mum and Jasmine all came too. Mum made some little cakes with pink icing for me and all my kinder friends, and just before snack time the teacher brought out one cake, put four candles in it and the whole group sang 'happy birthday' to me. I got a bit shy standing out the front of everyone! Then I had to stay out the front and call out everyone's name, like, 'Nicky, you can go,' so they could go to the tables for our snack. I remembered everyone's name except for one and I heard the teacher tell Mummy I'd done very well. On Saturday I had a party at Beckett Park with my friends. Everyone came with presents for me; I couldn't quite believe that it was all for me and kept getting a bit embarrassed. I was given some really nice presents and wanted to open the packets at the park, but Mum and Dad wouldn't let me, so I ran off to the playground with my friends instead. After a bit of a play and a trip up the lookout tower, we all had some munchies - chips, fairy bread and cheese straws. Mum made my birthday cake and had put lollies all around the bottom of it. The cake was right in front of Harry and me, so we pinched all the freckles from it! Once we'd eaten all the freckles we started on the mini-marshmallows...that was when Mum caught us. She didn't get too angry, though, since it was MY cake. Daddy lit the candles and everyone sang, 'Happy Birthday' to me again. I got all shy and squirmed in my seat, but I was really happy. Very, VERY happy. We ran about some more, before Daddy got everyone playing some silly games and we all got prizes: some playdough (made by Nan), some animals and some really cool flying balloons. Everyone loved the prizes. Then it was time to hand out lolly bags and everyone went home. It was a great party. This morning I went to Granny's house for croissants and more birthday cake! And MORE presents! I got all shy again and squirmed about as they sang 'Happy Birthday' to me. I struggled to blow out the candles, as I did yesterday, but Daddy helped me. Then I ate some more cake, but I preferred the lollies and the icing, and the giant python Nan put on top just for me. I was very tired when we left and slept for two hours once we got home, but that was after I squeezed in a quick play with my new gear set. This afternoon we are going to decorate the Christmas tree. Yippee!! Sunday, December 05, 2004
Jazzie does the funniest thing. Whenever I go to Mum for a cuddle, Jaz comes over and tries to cuddle Mum as well. I push her away, which gets her really cranky. Yesterday she got so upset that she stood there and hit me about six times on the back. Then she sat down on the kitchen floor and squealed at the top of her voice. Mum and I looked at her, then looked at each other and laughed. It was very funny. But she does get really jealous and I think she should work on that. I had a great day yesterday. I went to Tom's birthday party in the morning where there was a jumping castle. I jumped so much! Then I ate fairy bread, party sausages and lollies, so I was very happy. In the afternoon we all drove down to Harry's house. As we were driving I was still feeling a little bit dozy since I'd got up not long before and was just sitting there thinking about things. Then I said to Daddy, 'If there is a fire in a house next week, I carry you out, Dad'. I love my Daddy very much. Then I kind of woke up properly and played and giggled with Jasmine for the rest of the trip.
